Install in a minute

  1. Open the disk image

    Drag MacLC to your Applications folder.

  2. Open MacLC once

    macOS says it can’t verify the app yet: click Done. That’s expected for a free app not yet checked by Apple.

  3. Allow it, once

    Open System Settings › Privacy & Security, scroll to Security and click Open Anyway next to MacLC. Confirm with Touch ID or your password.

  4. Enjoy

    From now on MacLC opens like any app, ready for your files, folders and links.

Technical details: Installing MacLCFor the technically curious
  • The app is signed ad hoc, not notarised (notarisation requires a paid Apple Developer ID). The Terminal alternative to Open Anyway: xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/MacLC.app.
  • Check the download: shasum -a 256 maclc-1.6.dmg must print the checksum above. If macOS says MacLC “is damaged”, the download is incomplete: download it again.
  • Everything MacLC needs is inside the app (143 libraries; licences in Contents/Resources/Licenses). Optional: yt-dlp for web video (brew install yt-dlp) and SVP 4 Mac for its interpolation engine.
