No tracking and zero cookies

This website sets no cookies. There are no analytics scripts, no tracking pixels, no advertising networks, and no fingerprinting routines. We do not show a cookie banner because there are no tracking cookies to consent to.

Local browser storage

The only client-side storage used on this site is a single localStorage key: maclc-theme. It remembers whether you preferred light, dark, or system appearance. This value never leaves your machine and is never transmitted to any server.

Server logs

Our hosting provider maintains standard, privacy-preserving server access logs to measure aggregate traffic and ensure platform stability. These logs record only generic request data (timestamp, requested file, and aggregate bandwidth). We do not record individual IP addresses or build user profiles. We never sell, rent, or share server log data with any third party.

The application does not phone home

The MacLC media player contains no telemetry, no tracking libraries, and no automatic background pings. It does not monitor what you watch, how long you watch, or what formats you open. Your playback activity, file paths, and preferences remain strictly on your Mac.

Donations and payments

If you support the project with a financial contribution, the transaction is handled directly by PayPal under PayPal's privacy policy. MacLC never sees, handles, or stores your credit card number, bank details, or financial accounts. No email address or user account is required to download or run MacLC.

Changes to this policy

If we ever update this policy, the updated version will be posted here with a new date. Because we do not collect email addresses, we cannot send update notifications; this page is the definitive record.
